Folio Time

I haven’t posted for a while because I have been putting together a demo reel. Usually you should have a body of work that you can button together in a hurry, slap pieces in, cut pieces out but I am trying to tailor this reel toward the needs of the position I am applying for. Sort of like…

Temple

New Year’s Day is probably the most important cultural event in Japan. Spent with family or in transit to distant relative’s homes, eventually the temple is where people of every type and sort converge to receive blessing, make wishes, find peace and restore hope for the bright New Year that lay ahead.

Nengajo

What’s a nengajō? Similar to western Christmas cards, nengajō are New Year Cards for Japan. The purpose was to give these to your faraway friends and relatives, to spread tidings of cheer and let them know you still think about them. And to hope they meet the New Year with bright eyes and a warm heart. I wish this for all of you.

Cooking Up Xmas

Cooking Xmas

It’s been a busy and wonderful year, the holidays are no different. I have been cooking up another bit of 3d loving for a New Year’s project…I figured I would show you guys to let you know I haven’t forgot about you and to let you how much I appreciate you visiting, plus it’s kind of cool to see a WIP (Work In Progress).

A Late Thanks

The thing by which we communicate is often obscured by intention, position, and distance from the intended receiver. That is why translation, transliteration and the excise of meaning is difficult and sometimes impossible.

Fukushu-En

From the last couple of post as you can tell I haven’t posted a lot about Okinawa, it has just been me either working too much or me complaining about it. So I decided I should probably get out from behind the desk(s) and go take a look at the world.

Fidelity

I know these past few weeks I have been a little strange. I have rambled on or I have been distant. No, it’s not you. No, it’s not another website. No, I can explain all those late nights “working.” I have been, really. That’s what I wanted to tell you, as I alluded to a couple weeks ago. I just didn’t have time to go into detail. I figured I owed you some explanation. Well here it is…That’s right…

A Different Day

I have never been one for holidays, not that I think we shouldn’t have them but I have never found the “holiday spirit.” I have looked, I really have, under people’s turkeys, Menorahs, even Christmas trees, just no luck…I’m bad at pep rallies too.

Likely Excuses

I think there is a formula or at least an unseen dynamic, as the holidays draw near the given number of tasks increases by an exponent relative to the shortening distance to that particular holiday.
